- A Couch or A Potato - Students
will understand the relationship of living (biotic) and non-living
(abiotic) components within an ecosystem.
- A Dog Eat Dog World - Students
label animals as producers, consumers and/or decomposers and
explain the basis of that designation. They distinguish between
aquatic and terrestrial organisms.
- Critter Count - In Critter
Counting, students generate, collect, organize, display, and
analyze data using a graphical presentation.
- Oh Where, Oh Where Can My Industry
Be? - Youth scientists conduct observational studies of
three ecosystems. Using the Web World Wonders site cameras,
they gather data to justify the establishment of an industrialized
park at one site over the others.
- Physical or Chemical? That
Is The Question - Students use the five Web World Wonders
camera sites to locate and identify examples of physical and
chemical changes.
- Who Has The Power? - Students write
persuasive letters expressing opinions about the purchase of
25 acres adjacent to Wakulla Springs proposed to include a convenience
store/gas station. They submit the letter to the Florida Department
of Environmental Protection via email.
